Sedation Dentistry – Coronado, CA
Remove the Fear and Anxiety of Dental Treatments
Millions of Americans avoid going to the dentist entirely because they suffer from fear or anxiety. In fact, it’s one of the main reasons people avoid going to the dentist altogether, even if they are having a dental emergency and need to get treatment. While this is unfortunate, there are ways to help curb your fear. Dr. Popp and Dr. Bailey are trained to administer three different strengths of sedation dentistry. Thanks to this variety, it doesn’t matter what level of anxiety you have. To learn more about the process, give our dental office a call or keep reading below!
Oral Conscious Dental Sedation
For moderate levels of anxiety or fear, oral conscious sedation is likely the most ideal solution to help you get the treatment you need. This sedative is taken orally several hours before your actual treatment begins, giving you plenty of time for the sedative to kick in. By the time your appointment begins, you should feel incredibly relaxed. During your appointment, you’ll still be able to answer questions from the dentist, such as whether you feel comfortable or need assistance. Because of the strength of this sedative, you’ll need to have a friend or family member drive you to and from the dental office.
NuCalm® Relaxation System
Those who want to take advantage of sedation services in a more natural way may find NuCalm’s Relaxation system to be the ideal solution for managing anxiety and fear. The system follows four steps to achieving optimal comfort during dental treatments. The first includes an essential calming cream or dietary supplements to counteract adrenaline production. The second is microcurrent stimulation, which catalyzes the effectiveness of the natural supplementation used in the first step. Third, a neuroacoustic app is played via noise-canceling headphones. Finally, we provide an eye mask to remove additional stimulation typically found in the dental office.
Patient Amenities
On top of our sedation services, our dental office is equipped with amenities that help make your next visit a comfortable one. This includes blankets, pillows, and headphones to keep you comfortable. It also involves removing stimulation, such as dental drills or other noises found in the dental office. These basic amenities can make a big difference in your oral care experience and make it possible to get the necessary treatments for your oral health.
